SUPERMODEL ASHLEY GRAHAM BODY-SHAMMED FOR BEING ''TOO FAT'' TO BE A REAL MODEL
Ashley Graham is one of the most successful models in the world, and as a plus size gorgeous woman has faced her fair share of critics and trolls. Usually, the supermodel who has graced covers of magazines all over the world ignores her haters, but even she couldn't help but reply to an Instagram troll whose hate was so blatantly obvious.
An account on Instagram was posting side by side pictures of various models, including Ashley, Heidi Klum, Candice, etc. Slender figures were called "real" models while the plus size beauties were given the label of "fat models".
The comparisons extend to "fat models vs. real models," "me vs you," or "fat vs fit" along with a number of body shaming hashtags, like "#againstplussize" or" #fatgirl." Basically, the account existed just to showcase the worst kind of rhetoric in the fashion industry around plus sized.
Ashley was having none of it though, as she took screenshots of some particularly vile images from the account and posted them on her Instastories, together with her own empowering message to women about their bodies.
She admitted that her behaviour may be seen as petty by some, but she wanted to clarify that there was nothing that defined a real model or fat model or fake model. She stated that "your weight, your skin, your hair, your religious background...none of that determines whether you're a real model or not. So all those girls out there who have dreams and hopes, keep fighting for them and don't let all the losers on Instagram stop you."
Ashley has always been known to take a strong stand against body shaming of any kind, and always hits back at people who encourage it. Just last month, she fired back at people who apparently called her a "real woman" as she was not comfortable with the comparison and felt that "We are all real women".
The body shaming account still exists online but Ashley has moved past it and doesn't want to waste any more time on it, as she knows and understand fully that everyone's body is different!
